Airway Management

This focused 1–2 hour course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to recognize airway obstructions and effectively maintain a patent airway using appropriate techniques and equipment. Designed for both in-facility healthcare providers and pre-hospital responders, this course enhances your ability to act quickly and confidently in respiratory emergencies.

For added value, the Airway Management course can also be combined with Basic Life Support (BLS) for dual certification in a single session.

Who Should Take This Course?

This training is ideal for:

  • Healthcare professionals: nurses, care aides, dental staff, and medical office personnel

  • Emergency & rescue personnel: firefighters, ski patrol, sports therapists, lifeguards, SCUBA teams, and other first responders

What You’ll Learn

Participants will gain hands-on experience in airway assessment and the safe application of airway adjuncts. The course includes:

  • Opening the mouth: cross-finger technique & tongue-jaw lift

  • Insertion and removal of airway adjuncts

  • Use of Oropharyngeal (OPA) and Nasopharyngeal (NPA) airways

  • Awareness of supraglottic airways

  • Basic suctioning techniques

Certification Details

  • Certification: 3-year Airway Management certification (digital)

  • Duration: 1–2 hours as a stand-alone course / 1 hour when combined with BLS

  • Completion Requirements:

    • 100% attendance and participation

    • Demonstration of all skills

    • 75% or higher on written knowledge test

  • Prerequisites: None

  • Recertification: Not available for this course
