Our team is made up of experienced professionals who have spent years on the front lines. From former BC Wildfire Service smokejumpers to certified first aid and emergency response instructors, we bring real-world expertise into every course we deliver. We’re not just teachers—we’ve lived the work, and we’re passionate about preparing others to face critical situations with confidence and skill.

KEENEN BERG
FOUNDER AND CEO
Keenen Berg is the founder and CEO of Hyra Crisis Control, bringing a strong background in wildland firefighting and emergency response to the organization. With years of frontline experience, including time with the BC Wildfire and BC ambulance, Keenen understands the demands of high-risk environments and the importance of being properly trained. His vision for Hyra Crisis Control is rooted in a commitment to practical, no-nonsense training that prepares people to act confidently when it matters most. Under his leadership, the company focuses on delivering high-quality instruction that’s grounded in real-world scenarios, led by professionals who have lived it.

MAX LAUDER
FIREFIGHTER AND PARAMEDIC
Max Lauder is an instructor at Hyra Crisis Control specializing in both Firefighting and Paramedic training. With years of experience on the fireline and in emergency medical response, Max brings a steady, practical approach to every course he teaches. His background in high-risk environments has shaped a training style that emphasizes preparedness, clear thinking, and hands-on skill development. Max is dedicated to helping students gain the confidence they need to respond effectively in the field.

CONNOR HOLOBOFF
FIREFIGHTER AND PARAMEDIC
Connor Holoboff is an instructor at Hyra Crisis Control, bringing a strong foundation in firefighting and paramedicine to the team. With years of frontline experience and a background in teaching both disciplines, Connor understands the importance of calm decision-making and clear communication in high-stakes environments. His training approach is built around realism, hands-on learning, and helping students develop the confidence to perform under pressure. Connor plays a key role in Hyra’s commitment to delivering practical, high-quality instruction that reflects the realities of emergency response.
