Basic Life Support

Our Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to build confidence and competency in performing CPR and emergency interventions as part of a team-based response. Ideal for professionals with a duty to respond, this course focuses on rapid assessment, high-quality CPR, AED use, and key life-saving techniques in line with current best practices.

BLS can be taken on its own or combined with Airway Management and/or Oxygen Therapy for comprehensive emergency response certification.

Who Should Take This Course?

This course is ideal for:

  • In-facility care providers: nurses, care aides, medical and dental professionals

  • Pre-hospital responders: firefighters, lifeguards, rescue teams, ski patrol, and sports therapists

Course Duration Options

  • BLS only – 4 hours

  • BLS + Airway Management – 5 hours

  • BLS + Oxygen Therapy – 5 hours

  • BLS + Airway Management & Oxygen Therapy – 6 hours

  • Recertification – 2 hours

​What You’ll Learn

  • Proper glove removal and infection control

  • Primary assessment of an unresponsive patient

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants

  • AED use and rapid defibrillation

  • Managing airway obstructions and assisted ventilation

  • Special considerations for team-based BLS in clinical or rescue settings

Certification Details

  • Certification: 1-year Basic Life Support certification (digital)

  • Prerequisites: None

  • Completion Requirements:

  • 100% attendance and participation

  • Successful demonstration of all skills

  • Minimum 75% on written, closed-book exam

  • Recertification Duration: 2 hours (in-class only)
