​What You’ll Learn

Through a combination of lecture, group discussion, and marine-specific scenarios, participants will learn to manage:

• Red Cross principles and marine emergency response

• The EMS system and the “Check, Call, Care” approach

• Airway, breathing, and circulation emergencies

• Adult CPR and AED

• First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest

• Wound care, bleeding control, and shock

• Head, spine, bone, and joint injuries

• Sudden medical emergencies and poisoning

• Environmental emergencies such as hypothermia and heatstroke

• Marine-specific first aid challenges and scene safety

Certification Details

• Certification: 3-year Marine Basic First Aid and CPR/AED Level A

• Instructor: Certified Red Cross First Aid Instructor

• Prerequisites: None

• Completion Requirements:

  • 100% attendance and participation

  • Demonstration of all required skills

  • Minimum 75% on closed-book written exam

  • Adherence to Red Cross Fundamental Principles
